Asus Eee PC 1015T
ASUS has showcased its latest AMD Eee PC netbook at Computex 2010, namely ASUS Eee PC 1015T.The ASUS Eee PC 1015T isn’t based on Intel Pine Trail processor, but on AMD V105 processor which.ASUS Eee PC 1015T hiding at the back of the company’s booth. Looking at it, the machine has the appearance of any other netbook, though its glossy screen doesn’t exactly turn it into the most sunlight-readable of its kind. On the other hand, the fact that it was really just an engineering release (no OS was actually installed) at least hinted at a remote possibility of a different type of screen being implemented in the future.
Nevertheless, even as an engineering release, the ‘netbook’ showed promise. The V105 CPU from Advanced Micro Devices may run at just 1.2GHz, but it was backed up by up to 4GB of DDR3, much more than entry-level PCs usually have to offer. Additionally, storage space was of either 250GB or 320GB. The 10.1-inch display was somewhat less noteworthy, at 1,024 x 768p resolution. What was more interesting, however, was the presence of not just the Radeon HD 4200 GPU but also of NVIDIA hardware, according to the report, perhaps a discrete GPU with or without Optimus. As far as connectivity and I/O are concerned, the laptop has Bluetooth 3.0 (optional), a 6-cell battery (up to 6 hours of operation), 802.11b/g/n WiFi and, most importantly, USB 3.0 connectivity, among other things.
