Tomato claims the T99 features the world’s first design with a clip, and that it was embedded with such a feature so users can place it in their office or at home, for monitoring just about any corner of the environment, without anyone noticing the device. Well, that being said, I thought the T999 Shadow-controlled Mini DV was a small gizmo, but I was soon to find out that it measures a “mere” 18.5 x 5.5 x 1.35 centimeters, not to mention that the depth is rated excluding the clip. Therefore, this isn’t quite an easy to hide device, especially looking at its color flavors.

The Tomato T99 has a built-in memory of 2GB, but also a memory card slot for MicroSD up to 16GB. Knowing the T99 records video in 640 x 480 pixel resolution, 18GB of storage should be more than enough for a consumer. I have mentioned video resolution, so I might as well mention the frame rate, which is probably something like 27.5 frames per second, since I have found both 25fps and 30fps mentioned. Here’s an interesting (pompous, seemingly sophisticated) way of saying 1.3 Megapixels – 130 ten thousand Pixel – like I read in the technical specifications, and must admit it took me a while to comprehend.
